PJB. said: Post the instructions, it's probably very similar if not the same. E39 trim pops right off, just use a quality PLASTIC panel removal tool such as the one below so you don't mar the trim or door panel: don't bother with these. i use a non-bendable fork.

2. Second, I wish to add that once we determined that this was the ECU that was screwed, my first suggestion to Steve sir was to purchase an install an EWS delete chip, off ebay. Such chips uncode the ecu's built in software that demands a check with the EWS system, and also come with a performance enhancing map. So its a two in one solution.
The easiest thing to do is just ignore the old chip and program the new cluster to your car. Just make sure the new cluster build date is newer than your old cluster.
